Moments of inertia
Because the terms below have been borrowed from aeronautics and also for a clearer explanation of them, we use as models, besides cars, and several airplanes. In the following, we will describe the types of moves that can be recorded at the automobile level in dynamic regime.
A. (Pitch) – force felt during acceleration or braking generated by a rotation around the transverse axis of the vehicle.
B. (Roll) – force felt during cornering and generated by a rotation around the longitudinal axis of the vehicle.
C. (Yaw) – force felt during cornering and generated by a rotation around the vertical axis of the vehicle.
The moment of inertia is the tendency of resistance to the rotation movement. So if the body rotates around the axis depending on which is calculated the axial moment of inertia, value that indicates how much he opposes the rotation movement around it.
A common explanation is the acrobat walking on wire and held in hands a long stick to increse his moment of inertia and to prevent rotation around the wire.
